Black Bears

Black bears are the creatures that sparked my love for wildlife photography. On a vacation to Yellowstone (before I lived in Big Sky), I had an unforgettable experience with a black bear mother and two cubs of the year. Rangers had all the cars stopped and, as luck would have it, we were the first car and had a front row seat as the bear family ate dandelions on the side of the road and eventually crossed to the other side. I got a photo of one of the cubs up in a tree that I couldn't believe I took, and I was hooked. Most of my favorite memories in Yellowstone are with black bears.
